The number one cause of death in working and military dogs is canine hyperthermia, commonly called heat stroke. Heat stroke is prevalent and is also a silent killer of active companion animals, those who walk, run and cycle for exercise, sport, hunting and Search and Rescue dogs. One degree of body temperature can be the difference in life and death. The exact temperature is different for all dogs, based on the individual level of fitness, breed, energy expenditure and acclimation to current temperature. T-Cool has partnered with scientists and technologists to create a product proven to lower a dog's body temperature while wearing the collar and exerting physical energy. This could be the "one degree" that saves your dog's life. The combination of a patented, nontoxic, phase change organic oil packets, and a patent pending neoprene collar and harness, combine to strategically lower body temperature. According to Mr. Fohl, T-Cool's reason for existing is to raise awareness of this deadly killer, and bring forth scientific learning, technology and products to prevent canine hyperthermia. Everyone who has a dog has either had a loss, or knows of someone who has suffered a loss from this deadly killer.
During the research phase of the development of this product, we have learned so much. As an example, when a dog is stressed due to physical exertion and the activity is halted, due to metabolism, the dog's temperature continues to elevate, taking on average twenty minutes to return to its base line. There are no other products or technology on the market today that reduces the body's temperature. What makes the reduction of body temperature difficult is canines do not cool themselves vascularly, like humans. They use respiration and panting. Therefore, other products such as heat deflection vests and water evaporation vests simply do not work.
The T-Cool collar can be worn by dogs during all activities. It can be worn under Police Ballistic vests, and it allows for the proper placement of training collars and tracking devices to be worn with the collar.
T-Cool is committed to raising awareness of heat stroke, helping owners understanding the signs, and preventing the needless loss of our beloved companions.
